Emptiness and Blunted Affect
Many people who seem to themselves to feel nothing may actually feel as much as others if not more so, but feel aware of how little this is because they have nothing to distract themselves. Depression is one thing that can make us let go of the distractions from our feelings, and when they fall away, we are faced with an emptiness in ourselves.
